As we have foreseen, The Per Diem Platform is the way of the future.  We have just tweaked it so that EVERYONE can benefit.  It is undeniable that the gig-economy is growing, but what Per Diem has uncovered is that unless you have a car you can’t benefit from this new way of making money.

Well, let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.  Software platforms like Fiverr and Freelancer have been in the marketplace for a while, now. These platforms will allow a talented individual to offer their services to others, but this is normally done remotely and from all over the world.

Per Diem promotes local economy growth.  Per Diem allows local businesses to connect with local “skilled individuals” to staff unforeseen problems or a surge of staffing requirements.

Example: John owns a restaurant and it is Friday.  He is preparing for a busy weekend night.  At 2pm, John’s dishwasher calls out.  He has no-one within his staff to fill in.  With Per Diem, John can post an On-Demand Job asking help from his local community of Per Diems.  “CAN ANYONE HELP FILL A SHIFT FROM 4PM – 10PM WASHING DISHES?????”   Within minutes, John receives a dozen qualified candidates who are willing to work just for this shift.

Who are these candidates?  People like YOU and I.  People with experience in one or several skills that are willing to work part-time with no expectations of long time  employment.  Yes, people have called us the UBER of staffing, but we are much more than that.  We are providing opportunities for local people to help local people!

The benefits are TWO-SIDED.  On the local business side, the owner or manager now has thousands of temporary staff members just waiting to work.  Now this owner or manager can reduce the stress and  pressure of the inevitable CALL-OUT.   Also a local business can scale his/her business by taking on larger bids and contracts because they have a staffing force.

On the Per Diem side, local people like YOU and I can make ourselves available to local businesses to make extra cash.  Not all jobs require you to have a car or transport a person or food.  This opens the opportunity for everyone to provide a service.

Example: Let’s say you are an Administrative Assistant by trade.  You work full-time, but want to go on vacation this summer and need extra cash.  In the evenings and on the weekend, many people have earned extra money with apps like UBER or DOORDASH, but maybe you don’t want to have strangers in your car or deliver food to others.  Maybe you don’t have a car.  Per Diem allows you to offer the skills you wish to offer and love doing.  So you enter and offer the skills of ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT.  You also love painting and interior designing.  You have done all your friend’s homes and they keep telling you that you should quit your job and do this for a living.  Well, don’t quit your job, just add that as another skill you can offer on Per Diem.  (of course, they will want to see your work so add that in your Per Diem profile) Lastly, you are willing to use your knowledge of cleaning and add the skill of CLEANING PERSON.  I am sure there are more skills that we can add, but you get the point.  Everyone has SKILLS, EXPERIENCE and RESOURCES in many different industries, why not branch out a little and apply them.

Prediction 3: A significantly greater share of the professional workforce will shift from full-time to gig employees.

Here is the passage from the article.

Prediction 3: A significantly greater share of the professional workforce will shift from full-time to gig employees. Companies are always seeking to reduce costs and liabilities, but during a recession these efforts reach a fever pitch. Today many people think of Uber and Lyft drivers, Instacart and Postmates delivery workers and hair stylists when they think of gig employees, but the reality is that the gig economy is already far more wide-reaching. According to Deloitte, more than 40% of workers are currently employed in alternative work arrangements, such as gig and contract work. Over the next decade, that number will increase dramatically.

This article is definitely a game changer and validates the Per Diem Model.  We are excited to see local people to help local people.  Providing support to local business by allowing local people to work for them builds that community’s economic growth rate.  This then becomes a viral growth in economy. Remember, the Admin who wanted to go on vacation to the shores of New Jersey or Florida.  She will spend her money within those communities, who in-turn, will need extra staff to facilitate services to the increased amount of people who are traveling there because people are making money with Per Diem.
